Tie Dye Tank Top

Image
Spring is finally here! And it is time to bring some color! I had an ordinary, white t-shirt, so I decided to tie dye it and cut the sleeves off to make a tank top. Materials - tie dye kit (tie dye, plastic gloves, rubber bands) - scissors 1. Take the shirt and fold it in half. This ensures that the cuts are equal. 2. Cut the sleeves off. This is the result: 3. To begin the tie dye, pick a point where you want the beginning of the swirl to be. Pinch that point and twist the shirt clockwise. Keep on twisting until the whole shirt is twisted. 4. Tie 3 rubber bands around the shirt so that there are six equal sections on the shirt. Before tie dying, make sure the area you are working in is clean and okay to stain. If not, make sure you have a trash bag to dye on and a smock and gloves. 5. Dye each section a different color. I used purple, green, and blue. 6. Flip the shirt over, and do the same thing. 7. String Bracelet

I found a really easy way to braid string. You can use it for a headband, bracelet, and more. The braid is super simple and doesn't take too long. Materials: - string (cords, shoelaces, anything that is pretty wide) **the length depends on what you are making, but I would be safe and have about 3 feet of string. 1. Take your string and make a loop with about 4 inches left on one side. 2. Put your fingers through the loop, grab the the short side of string (not the end, closer to the middle), and pull it throught the loop. This creates another loop with a knot at the bottom. 3. Take the long end of the string and pull it behind and through the loop. Pull tight. 4. Keep on doing step three. If the loop gets too large, pull on the large end of the string, and the loop will become smaller. 5. When the braid is as long as you like, make the loop large enough so that the long end of the string goes through the end of braid, and the loops disappears....
