Box Lantern

With Halloween just around the corner, I decided to make a lantern that you can put outside for Halloween! I chose not do a spooky design, but you can. This project doesn't need a lot of materials, so it is really easy to make. I was going to use a can, but my can was too strong to poke a hole through.

Materials:
- a cardboard box that isn't too big (mine is 3" by 3" by 10")
- a nail (tacks don't poke holes that are wide enough)
- a battery-operated candle

1. Pick your box.

2. Draw your design onto the box. I have found that if you are going to write letters, make sure you write them big.

3. Poke holes through the box while following the design you have drawn.

4. Voila! You're done! Make sure that you light your lantern when it is really dark outside. Painting the box black might help if you want to light you lantern earlier.
